Material Photo Widget presents a straightforward solution for users looking to showcase their favorite photos directly on their home screens. This open-source application operates without advertisements and offers a free alternative for home screen customization.

The process of adding a new widget populated with photos is notably straightforward.

 <li>Define intervals or schedules for automatic slideshow transitions</li>
 <li>Your widgets serve as shortcuts; available tap actions include viewing in full screen, accessing the gallery, or opening other apps and links</li>
 <li>Support for five aspect ratios: square, tall, wide, original (as per the photo), and fill widget area</li>
 <li>Choose from twelve different widget shapes</li>
 <li>Incorporate colored borders</li>
 <li>Customize opacity, offset, and padding to optimize the alignment of home screen elements</li>

How to Use:

To create a new widget, open the app and select "Create a new widget" from the home screen. After adding your chosen photos and configuring the appearance and behavior, simply tap "Add to home screen." Alternatively, you can long-press on the home screen, access the widget menu, search for "Material Photo Widget," and configure your widget accordingly.

Troubleshooting Widget Visibility:

This application is designed to consume minimal power and operates in the background as needed (e.g., for photo switching). Due to its infrequent active use, Android may deprioritize it to optimize battery life. It is also important to note that certain devices may prevent apps from restarting automatically after a reboot, which could affect widget functionality. If this occurs, ensure that you grant the app "auto start" permissions through your device settings or security app.

The application does not require storage permissions; photos, directories, and shortcut apps are selected using native pickers and stored internally to maintain privacy and security. No tracking or network communication is involved.
